Current Career Opportunities
This position is located in Solon, OH and is responsible for the global flow of materials and product for The Robbins Company, to meet the required delivery deadlines of our customers.
Responsibilities include:
- plans, implements and controls the efficient and effective flow of materials
- manages the domestic and international Shipping Departments in Solon.
- develops best practices and necessary controls to ensure efficient operation, fully in control of the movement of materials to and between manufacturing facilities (Robbins USA, international subsidiaries, and vendors), warehouses and job sites.
- develops procedures and controls to ensure that Robbins products are properly packaged to allow 'damage-free' arrival of products to the customer.
- coordinates closely with Project Managers to ensure delivery of product in compliance with contractual obligations and ensuring collection of contractually required negotiable documents as may be needed for collection of payments.
- domestic and international travel to job sites, warehouses, and subsidiary locations as needed (<20%).
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management or related field
- 10+ yrs of manufacturing-related transportation exp
- international logistics exp
- ability to understand engineering drawings and schematics
- proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Project)
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- a professional certification is preferred: SOLE CPL or CML; APICS CSCP or CPIM
The Project Manager will manage all aspects of assigned projects to ensure delivery of a tunnel boring machine to the customer on time, and within the quality standards and budget established. This position continually monitors the schedule, progress and financial obligations related to the projects that are assigned.
The Project Manager is responsible for all customer-related project functions including: pre-contract proposals and quotes, contract development, design review meetings, tracks and obtains change orders for variations in scope of supply, expedites financial issues with customer, ensures invoicing is done as contract allows, customer contact for payment collections, resolves back charges and warranty claims for and against Robbins, obtains customer acceptance sign-off as required by contract, and coordinates with internal departments to obtain machine design info for customer, production schedules and budget info, and field service on-site services. 10-20% travel, mostly international.
Qualifications desired: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Mechanical field, 10-15 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably with custom-made machinery, abililty to manage the schedule and budget to meet requirements, proficiency in Microsoft programs, PMBOK training preferred, business and accounting skills to read and understand the terms and agreements of the contract, fluent in written and spoken English, 2nd language preferred.
The Sr. Designer will work out of our Kent, Washington facility. This position prepares innovative and specification compliant designs for Robbins' equipment, checks drawings for accuracy, and participates in design reviews. Domestic and international travel to participate in technical meetings and/or to troubleshoot machinery at job sites may be required.
The qualifications for a Sr. Designer include: Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, 15+ years of experience in design of mechanical systems, proficiency in AutoCAD and Solid Edge (3D) design and drafting software, thorough knowledge of tolerances and allowances for classes of fit, all facets of Geometric Tolerancing and True Positioning (ANSI Y14.5), and structureal shapes, fabrication techniques, and machining processes. Fluency in 2nd language is preferred.
The Sr. Design Engineer will work out of our Kent, Washington facility. This position prepares innovative and specification compliant designs for Robbins' equipment, and prepares design calculations to substantiate function and fitness of products. Domestic and international travel may be required to participate in technical meetings and/or to inspect or troubleshoot machinery at the jobsite.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years of machine design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidEdge (3D) drafting software, experience in Finite Element Stress Analysis, fluency in 2nd language preferred.
